NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Yale field hockey team has been honored by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) with the NFHCA National Academic Team Award for 2025. The National Academic Team Award is presented to all NCAA field hockey teams that had a GPA of 3.50 or higher for the fall 2025 semester. The NFHCA announced the award winners Tuesday.
This is the latest in a series of academic honors for Yale from the NFHCA. Earlier this month the NFHCA honored individual student-athletes, including 14 Bulldogs, with selection to the National Academic Squad. The National Academic Squad honor recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 through the first semester of the 2024-25 academic year.Â
Yale then had three student-athletes – sophomore midfielder
Kaitlyn Chang (Houston, Texas), first-year midfielder/forward
Emma Mueller (Barrington, R.I.) and first-year forward/midfielder
Ella Ou (Houston, Texas) – honored with the NFHCA Scholar of Distinction Award last Friday. That award recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.90 or higher through the first semester of the 2025-26 academic year.
