John Poulakidas ’25 Signs Two-Way Contract with Dallas Mavericks

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – John Poulakidas '25 from the Yale men's basketball team has signed a two-way contract with the Dallas Mavericks, announced on Sunday afternoon.
 
"Extremely excited for John and his family; it's so good to see his hard work and dedication pay off," said James Jones, the Joel E. Smilow Head Coach of the Bulldogs.
 
Poulakidas appeared in 37 G League games for the San Diego Clippers this season, averaging 12.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 27.0 minutes per game while shooting an impressive 45.1% from three-point range.
 
The Naperville, Illinois native had a standout 2024–25 season for Yale, leading the Ivy League in scoring, earning First Team All-Ivy honors, and reaching double figures in 26 games, including 14 with 20 or more points, while showcasing his sharpshooting from three-point range. Additionally, he cemented his place in the Yale record books by finishing second all-time with 243 career three-pointers. He concluded his career with 1,362 points, placing him 10th on Yale's all-time scoring list, while his 243 made threes remain the second-highest total in school history.
