Nick Townsend of the Yale men's basketball team added another accolade to his standout career, earning All-ECAC Second Team honors, as announced Wednesday.
Townsend, the reigning Ivy League Player of the Year, put together an outstanding senior season. He paced Yale in scoring with 16.3 points per game, ranking eighth in the conference. He also finished third in rebounding (7.4 per game) and second in assists (4.3 per game). The Chappaqua, New York native reached double figures in 28 games and tallied five double-doubles. A two-time First Team All-Ivy selection, he has earned Ivy League Player of the Week honors twice this season, was recognized as the USBWA Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week, and is a finalist for the College Insiders' Nolan Richardson Award.
