PENNSAUKEN, N.J. – Yale women's crew, ranked No. 3 in this week's CRCA national poll, opened its spring season in dominant fashion. The Bulldogs earned five victories against No. 8 Rutgers and No. 16 Penn, then added another five wins over Northeastern on Saturday at the Doc Hosea Invitational on the Cooper River in New Jersey.
Yale capped the day with a standout team performance, capturing the Doc Hosea Cup with 33 total points ahead of No. 9 Virginia, No. 12 Syracuse, Rutgers, Penn, and Northeastern. The Bulldogs also retained the Connell Cup against the Quakers, whom they last faced in 2022.
"We have a lot of work to do," said
Will Porter, Friends of YWC Head Coach. "We need to find lineups in all our crews. It's been a tough spring with fast rough water. It is taking us time to get up to speed."
