Bulldogs Compete at Regionals

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Select individuals of the Yale men's and women's fencing teams competed at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships on Sunday at Vassar College. First year Sophie Liu was a standout, placing first in saber.

Nine athletes on the women's side competed at regionals. In addition to Liu, Yale placed two athletes in the top eight. Kristina Petrova and Jia Chen placed fifth and seventh in foil, respectively.

On the men's side, 12 individuals competed. The Bulldogs placed four athletes in the top-eight: Vinni Yu, Yonjae Kim, Castor Kao, and Nicholas Kim.

Qualifying individuals will travel to South Bend, Indiana from Thursday, Mar. 19 to Sunday, Mar. 22 to compete at the 2026 NCAA Fencing Championships. Selections will determined on Tuesday, March 10.
