Vignesh Gogineni and
Edward Liao were named All-Ivy selections, as announced Thursday. Gogineni earned unanimous First Team All-Ivy honors in singles and, with partner Liao, also captured First Team recognition in doubles. Liao additionally received Second Team All-Ivy honors in singles. Team captain
Eric Li was named the team's Academic All-Ivy selection.
Gogineni earned All-Ivy honors for the second time in his career, securing First Team recognition for the first time. The Mason, Ohio native posted an impressive 20–3 record during the spring season while competing at the No. 1 position. His standout victories included a 7–6 (3), 6–3 win over No. 6 Michael Zheng of Columbia, along with wins against Pepperdine's Edward Winter and Harvard's Peter Benjamin Privara. He also notched two victories over Cornell's Rodrigo Fernandes. Gogineni is currently ranked No. 32 nationally in singles and made his second consecutive NCAA Individual Championship appearance in the fall.
Gogineni and Liao, Yale's top doubles pair at the No. 1 position, posted a dominant 15–5 record this spring, including three wins in league play. Their league victories came against Brown (Lukas Phimvongsa/Ivan Sodan), Cornell (Eric Verdes/Rodrigo Fernandes), and Harvard (Rohan Murali/Kolos Kincses). The duo also recorded notable wins over top pairs from Notre Dame, Arkansas, Oklahoma State, and Purdue.
Liao delivered a standout sophomore season, earning league honors for the first time in his career. The Commack, New York native, who primarily competed at Yale's No. 2 singles position, finished the spring with an impressive 16–7 record. He also recorded four league victories, highlighted by a pair of strong performances: a three-set comeback win over Harvard's Peter Benjamin Privara (5–7, 6–2, 10–3) and a straight-set victory against Cornell's Eric Verdes (7–6(5), 6–1). In non-conference play, Liao added another notable result with a win over Notre Dame's Perry Gregg.
Li has excelled both on the court and in the classroom for the Bulldogs. An Economics major, the senior has compiled an 11–4 record this spring, primarily competing at the No. 4 and No. 5 positions. The Skillman, New Jersey native has recorded notable Ivy League wins in three-set battles, including a victory over Brown's Elliot Wasserman (4–6, 6–2, 10–6) and a win against Columbia's Thanaphat Boosarawongse (7–5, 4–6, 10–8).
