Evans, Hanson Lead Bulldogs to Ivy League Championship Game With Win Over Brown

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Senior Tate Evans tossed seven strong innings, and Davis Hanson hit a clutch two-run home run in the sixth inning to lead the Yale baseball team past Brown in the Ivy League Tournament at George H.W. Bush '48 Field. The Bulldogs topped the Bears 5-2 to advance to their first Ivy League Tournament Championship game.

After topping No. 4 Columbia on Friday, the No. 1-seeded Bulldogs made it two consecutive wins with Saturday's triumph over No. 3 Brown. Yale will play in the championship game on Sunday against the winner of Brown and Columbia. The Bulldogs will clinch an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament and an Ivy League Tournament Championship with a win. With a loss, they will have an opportunity to compete in a winner-take-all game on Monday.

• Evans pitched seven strong innings, allowing just one earned run. He struck out five and tossed a career-high 123 pitches.
• Hanson hit a crucial two-run home run in the sixth to extend Yale's lead.
