NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The No. 16 Yale women's lacrosse team was just 15 minutes away from claiming a third straight Ivy League Tournament title on Sunday afternoon at Reese Stadium. The Bulldogs had rallied from an early 4-1 deficit and taken an 8-6 lead on a buzzer-beating goal from senior attacker
Ashley Newman at the end of the third quarter. But a veteran Princeton squad answered with one final run that decided the championship, outscoring the Bulldogs 6-0 in the fourth quarter for a 12-8 victory.
Yale falls to 13-4 (6-1 Ivy League) on the season while Princeton improves to 11-6 (5-0 Ivy League).
