NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Four student-athletes from the Yale women's crew team have been selected to represent their respective countries at the 2026 World Rowing Championships in Duisburg, Germany from July 23-26.
Yale selections include:
Valia Lykomitrou '29: Greek 1x
Jana Dremelj '27: Slovenia 2-
Hana Volfova '30: Czechia 4-
Ewa Grzimek '30: Germany 4x
The event, which attracts up to 1,000 rowers from around the world, will take place at the Duisburg Regatta Course, which has been regularly modernized over the past 15 years. In 2006, the existing course was extended with a side channel connecting the finish area to the start. In 2017, the boathouse area, including the sanitary facilities, was modernized, and the regatta office building and finish tower are currently undergoing a complete rebuild.
The Duisburg OC has long-standing experience in hosting national and international rowing and canoeing events.
