NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Coming off a memorable 2025-26 season, the Yale women's tennis team is set to kick off 2026-27 fall action this weekend, hosting the Bulldog Invitational on Friday, Sept. 18 through Sunday, Sept. 20.
"We are so excited to be back on campus practicing and able to be together as a team," said
Rachel Sapir-Kahan, the Swensen-McMahon Head Coach of Women's Tennis. "Our main focus is always development, and we have put in some great work so far. We are looking forward to the opportunity to compete next weekend against some good competition!"

A Year to Remember
The Bulldogs are coming off a stellar season that saw the team capture the program's first Ivy League title since 2013 and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Championships. Yale finished the regular season with a sensational 19-3 record and a 6-1 mark in Ivy League play. The Bulldogs' 19 victories were the most since finishing 20-4 in the 2011-12 season. Yale also won its second consecutive ECAC Indoor Championship title and went undefeated at home for the second straight year, posting an 8-0 record.
The Captain
For the second consecutive year, it was announced that
Erin Ha will serve as captain for the Bulldogs. Ha is coming off a strong junior campaign, posting a 17-3 overall record this season, including five wins in Ivy action while playing at the No. 5 and No. 6 singles positions. Additionally, she picked up 14 wins in doubles, seeing the majority of her time at the No. 3 position and partnering with
Shyla Aggarwal.
Rookie of the Year Return
Coming off a strong first season as a Bulldog that saw her garner Rookie of the Year accolades,
Leena Friedman returns for her sophomore campaign. Friedman finished as the highest-ranked first-year player in the league competing in the lineup at No. 2. The Quogue, New York native posted a 10–4 spring singles record, including four Ivy League wins, highlighted by straight-set victories over Princeton's Bella Chhiv and Penn's Lara Stojanovski.

Katharine Liu look to make their Bulldog debuts this season. All bring strong credentials on and off the court.
