NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale men's soccer team dropped a non-conference matchup to the University of Massachusetts at home on Saturday evening. The Minutemen topped the Bulldogs 2-1 for their second straight win.
With the victory, UMass improved to 4-3-1 overall. Yale dropped to 1-5 overall.
"I am really gutted for our guys tonight, as we deserved so much more from our performance," said
Kylie Stannard, the 5K Corral Head Coach of the Bulldogs. "We were really good for the large majority of the game, including the amount of very quality goal-scoring chances we had. Ultimately, this sport can be played and analyzed in a lot of ways, but it is always decided by which team wins more moments in the boxes, and we need to keep working to learn and improve in those critical areas. I know this group has it in them, and we are due to have a couple things go our way. Once we do that, we are very capable of moving the momentum in the right direction."

The Bulldogs will host the University of New Haven on Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 6 p.m.
