NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Senior
Hebe Chadwick (Delft, the Netherlands) of the Yale women's cross country team has been named Ivy League Athlete of the Week. The league announced the honor on Tuesday.
Chadwick set a course record at Dartmouth's Maribel Sanchez Souther Invitational Saturday, winning the 6K in 20:53.9. She helped the Bulldogs to a second-place finish.
Chadwick led throughout the race, edging Dartmouth's Virginia Kraus (20:55.7) by less than two seconds for the win. She has finished among Yale's top five in each of her last seven races; this was her first time as Yale's top finisher. This was the second-fastest 6K cross country time of her career, trailing only her time of 20:35.1 at NCAA Regionals last year.
Chadwick is a graduate of Stanislascollege Westplantsoen.
The Bulldogs race again on Oct. 2 at Lehigh's Paul Short Run.
