ITHACA, N.Y. – The Yale women's soccer team fell to Cornell, 1-0, in its Ivy League opener on Saturday afternoon at Berman Field. The Big Red scored on a penalty kick in the opening minute and held on for the victory.
With the victory, Cornell improved to 4-3-2 (1-0-0 Ivy), and Yale dropped to 5-5-0 (0-1-0 Ivy).
"Disappointing result," said
Sarah Martinez, the Loring Family Head Coach of Women's Soccer. "We have to show up more prepared to play with intensity from the first whistle and play to what our identity is. We shift our focus to Princeton."
