Biography
2019-20: She and doubles partner Jessie Gong became the first Bulldogs to earn All-America honors… Duo won the ITA All-American title in the fall, becoming the first Ivy League women in either singles or doubles to win the event… Beat the Tennessee duo of Tenika McGiffin and Kaitlin Staines in the final, winning in thrilling fashion 2-6, 6-3, 10-8… Martinelli  and Gong reached as high as No. 3 in the ITA national rankings… The two finished with a 20-5 doubles record… Duo posted impressive wins over teams from Auburn at the prestigious Blue Gray Classic and Florida Atlantic… The two went undefeated at the fall Michigan Invitational, including a 7-5 win over the Wolverine duo… Duo had an 11-match winning streak in the fall… Martinelli finished with a 19-10 record in singles… Thirteen of her singles match came at the No. 1 position… No. 46 in singles in the February ITA national rankings… Reached the quarterfinal of the ITA Northeast Regional.
2018-19: Team high 25 singles wins and 20 doubles wins over the course of the season... Named to Ivy League First Team in singles for second straight year... Named to Ivy League Second Team in doubles (with Jessie Gong)... Made ITA Regional Semifinals in singles before losing to the No.4 overall seed... Awarded the Lisa Rosenblum ''75 Most Valuable Player Award for second consecutive year...Â
2017-18: Team high 21 singles wins and 15 doubles wins over the course of the season... Named Ivy League Rookie of the Year... Named to Ivy League First Team in singles and doubles (with Elizabeth Zordani)... Made ITA Regional Semifinals in singles before losing to No. 1 overall seed and Regional Round of 16 in doubles in her first month with the team... Awarded the Lisa Rosenblum ''75 Most Valuable Player Award... First first-year to win MVP for the Bulldogs since 2011.Â
