2020: Made four appearances, tallied 10 strikeouts in relief… Pitched 2.0 innings, registered five strikeouts and allowed on run against Richmond on March 8… Season cancelled after 10 games due to coronavirus pandemic.

2019: He appeared in 10 games in relief, tallied 16 strikeouts… Pitched 1.1 shutout innings against UCF including three strikeouts.

Before Yale: Two year letterwinner under Coach David Castillo… led the state (5a) in strikeouts his junior with 71 strikeouts in 50 innings with a 2.33 era… played in Colorado All Stars Futures Game striking out the side...received an honorable mention for the Perfect Game all-Region team… played 3 years on basketball team…on the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Leadership Team in high school… involved with high school ministry group… led sunday school for young children... owned a lawn mowing company and gumball machine business with his brother, Jeff. 

Personal: Matt is the son of Sue and Eric Erickson, brother to Jeff Erickson. Jeff, one year younger than Matt, is a senior and captain of the football, baseball, and basketball teams at Fairview High School. Eric was a D1 skier at New England College, member of the USA cycling and ironman finisher. He now works in Real Estate development buying, flipping and selling houses. Sue works for Flatirons Church in community development helping underprivileged, low income people get in contact with employers and find jobs.
