2020: Appeared in 10 games, had a .297 batting average, scored eight runs, stole five bases and drove in four runs… Went 4 for 5, scored three runs and stole two bases in game against Old Dominion on February 29… Went 2 for 3, registered three RBI, scored two runs and stole two bases in win against Richmond on March 8… Season cancelled after 10 games due to coronavirus pandemic.

2019: He was named to Collegiate Baseball’s Freshman All-American team and earned second team All-Ivy accolades… Hit .326, tied for third on the team in hits with 46, a .423 OBP, he was second on the team in stolen bases with 28 and third on the team in runs with 29… He went 2 for 2 with 2 RBI against New Mexico State on February 22… Went 3 for 3, scoring one run and one RBI against New Orleans on March 1… Had a 12-game hitting streak from March 13 through April 1.

Before Yale: Four-year starter at Allen High School, the largest high school in the state of Texas. Two-time District 6-6a Defensive MVP, three-time Team Defensive MVP, Team MVP senior year, two-time Performance Course Star of the Year. Selected to 2018 NTHSBCA All Star Game. Graduated magna cum laude and was a member of the National Honor Society.

Personal: Son of Michael and Lisa LaPlante, both graduated from the University of Texas at Austin. Father is a retired FBI agent, spending 22 years in the Bureau. Mother is currently a 4^th grade English teacher. Sister Emily is a sophomore at Allen High School and plays on the varsity soccer team.
