Biography

2021-22: Team captain...Second team All-Ivy selection... Finished third in the Ivy League in free throw percentage (.806), seventh in field goal percentage (.485) and third in steals (44)... Second on the team in scoring (11.3 ppg.)... Scored 32 points in the home win over Penn... Scored 22 points, all in the second half, in a win over Lehigh... First career double-double (14 points, 11 rebounds) came at Seton Hall... Recipient of the team's Stan Smith Senior Award... Named to NABC Honors Court.

2020-21: Team captain... Season canceled due to pandemic
 
2019-20: Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year…  Tied for fourth in the league with 40 steals… One of only two Bulldogs to start all 30 games… Shot 41.4 percent from three-point range… Averaged 5.9 points… Scored 12 points in Ivy wins over Brown and Cornell at home… Scored in double figures four times… Had nine points, six rebounds and five steals in the home victory over Penn.

2018-19: Appeared in 17 games… Made his first career start vs. Albany when he played a career-high 20 minutes… Scored six points on a pair of three-pointers in the win over Lehigh… Missed the last seven games with an injury.

2017-18: Missed the season with an injury... Recipient of the team's Dick Derby Scholarship Award.

Before Yale: First team all-county selection as a senior at Glenelg Country School in Maryland… Spent first three years of high school at Harrisburg Academy where he was leading scorer in the state of Pennsylvania as a junior… First team all-state selection in his junior season… Finished his career with 2,053 points, 228 three-pointers, 666 rebounds, 249 steals and 366 assists… Scored 60 points in a game in his junior season at Harrisburg… Helped lead Glenelg to MIAA A Division quarterfinals as a senior… Played AAU for York Ballers.

Personal: Father played basketball at Christopher Newport University for one year, older brother Jini played at MIT for one year and uncle Kurt Samuels played at UNC-Asheville before playing professionally overseas for more than 10 years… intern at Google's Pittsburgh office in summer of 2019 and was scheduled to intern at Google’s headquarters in California in the summer of 2020 but instead worked remotely from his home in Harrisburg.. He worked on the Google shopping team and was part of a software project that went live at the end of his internship. Volunteer at the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank… National Merit Commended Scholar.
