2020: Elected team captain… Made nine appearances … Started three games on the mound and came out in relief for one … Had a .318 batting average, scored two runs and recorded two RBI… He pitched 5.0 innings and had a season-high eight strikeouts and only allowed four hits versus The Citadel on February 21… Went 2-for-4 against Old Dominion, scored two runs and recorded one RBI on March 1… Season cancelled after 10 games due to coronavirus pandemic.
2019: First team All-Ivy League ... Started 11 games, posting a 6-4 record and 3.52 ERA ... Struck out 76 in 76.2 innings ... Went 4-2 with a 2.24 ERA in seven Ivy League starts ... Struck out 46 in Ivy games, second-best in the league ... Had 40 at-bats, hitting three doubles and a triple.
2018: Appeared in 43 games, notching 12 extra-base hits in 169 at-bats ... Pitched 10 games, including two starts ... Struck out 11 in 18.2 innings ... 3.38 ERA.
2017: Named Honorable Mention All-Ivy as a first year... Earned a spot on the NCAA Corvallis Regional All-Regional Team...Contributed both at the plate and on the mound... Hit .337 in 98 at bats with four home runs... Started six games on the mound... Won at Princeton in his first Ivy League decision on April 3 with a complete-game, seven-inning shutout... Struck out seven, pitched into the sixth and earned the victory in a 6-3 win against Columbia on April 10... Went 4 for 5 with two home runs and three RBI in a win at Harvard on April 15.
Before Yale: Four-year letterman at Trinity Christian Academy in Addison, Texas… Team captain during his junior and senior seasons… Hit four home runs during his senior season and led the team in OPS (1.263)… Was named first team all-district, second team all-state and MVP during his junior and senior seasons… Won the Steve Adair award for leadership, work ethic, integrity and determination as a senior… His team made the Tapps 5A State Semifinals his junior year… Graduated magna cum laude, was a member of both the National and the Spanish National Honor Society… Filled role as an assistant coach at middle school baseball camps.
Personal: Son of Lisa and Gregory Stiegler, both mother and father graduated from Central Missouri… Father played baseball as a RHP and designated hitter for Central Missouri and received his masters from Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville; is currently an Assistant Vice President for AT&T… Mother is a homemaker… Grandfather Bob Stiegler was a professional golfer.
