Hannah Tepper, who spent the previous three seasons on the staff at Trinity (Conn.) and was a part of three NCAA tournament appearances as a player at Assumption, joined the Yale field hockey staff as an assistant coach in May of 2026.

Prior to joining the Bulldogs, Tepper most recently served as acting head coach at Trinity since January 2026. She started as an assistant with the Bantams in 2023. She also had stints as the Bantams’ interim head coach in the 2024 preseason and the 2025 spring semester.

In Tepper’s first season as an assistant the Bantams were ranked No. 9 nationally in the preseason NFHCA poll. She helped coach one NFHCA All-America honoree and three NFHCA All-Region honorees. In 2024, when the Bantams were ranked No. 25 nationally in the preseason NFHCA poll, she helped coach an All-NESCAC pick in Izzy Deveney. Deveney set the school record for defensive saves in a season with seven and in a career with 20.

Tepper was a team captain at Assumption College, where she helped the Greyhounds to three NCAA Division II Tournament appearances (2019, 2021 and 2022), a pair of NCAA Division II Tournament semifinal appearances and Northeast-10 regular season titles (both in 2021 and 2022) and the 2021 Northeast-10 tournament title. In her final two seasons the team went 35-8 overall (25-2 NE-10). She was a third team all-conference selection and was chosen for the DII Senior Team. Tepper graduated from Assumption in 2022 with a bachelor's degree in biology and finished her playing career as a graduate student that fall.

Tepper has coached in USA Field Hockey’s Nexus program since 2024, and served as head coach at the 2025 Junior Olympics Games. She has also coached with club teams throughout the Northeast and at multiple camps and clinics. She is a native of Stroudsburg, Pa., and graduated from Stroudsburg High School.
