Chaney Kalinich '19 returns to the Yale sideline as manager after four years playing goalie for the Bulldogs. A three-time NFHCA National Academic Squad selection, Kalinich also earned the field hockey team's Amanda Walton Award -- given by Yale players and coaching staff to that team member who demonstrates the ability to confront challenges, displaying the courage to overcome them, while inspiring teammates with her work ethic and unselfish attitude. She made a successful recovery from injury, playing her first career game Oct. 21, 2018 in a 5-2 win vs. Lehigh.

Kalinich also has international playing experience. One of the first major steps in her comeback came in June 2018, when she played for the Puerto Rican National Team in the FIH Open Series in Salamanca, Mexico.

A graduate of Glenbard West High School, Kalinich was a part of USA Field Hockey's Futures Program. She competed at the National Hockey Festival in 2012 and 2013 and competed at the Disney Field Hockey Showcase in 2013 and 2014.

Kalinich also played for Windy City Field Hockey Club. Her father, Kevin Kalinich ’84, played football at Yale and coached football at Michigan. Her grandfather was also an Ivy Leaguer; he played and coached football at Cornell.
