HENLEY-ON-THAMES, England – Four of the five Yale Heavyweight oarsmen competing for cups today in Henley Royal Regatta finals left the Thames River with hardware.  

 

Alex Potter '23, racing for the Sydney Rowing Club, won the Wyfold Challenge Cup, a coxed four event. Potter and company won by a length over a boat from Norway.  

 

Sholto Carnegie '18 was a winner in a straight four for the Stewards' Challenge Cup as Leander Club & Oxford Brookes University. Carnegie, currently in the British Senior 4-, and his mates defeated another boat from the Leander Club by two and a half lengths.

 

Charlie Elwes '19 and Tom Digby '20 took home the Visitors' Challenge Cup as Cambridge University & Leander Club. The two Elis, in the British Under-23 4-, easily outraced a boat from the Netherlands.

 

Ollie Wynne-Griffith '17 raced his way into the finals but lost today in the Grand Challenge Cup (8+) competing for Leander & Oxford Brookes University. He is in the British Senior 8*.
