College Lacrosse Classic at Grady Stadium

All three of its games this winter have been decided by a goal. The No. 3/4 Yale Men's Lacrosse Team (2-1) doesn't expect things to get easier as it moves into spring. The Bulldogs get another test this Sunday with a 1 p.m. game against Michigan (3-1) at Grady Stadium in the Atlanta (Ga.) College Lacrosse Classic. This matchup is scheduled to air live on Youtube.

This is the third meeting of Yale and Michigan and the first at a neutral site. The teams met at Michigan Stadium on April 19, 2014, and the Bulldogs took a 13-7 win. Last February at Reese Stadium, the Elis beat the Wolverines 15-11.

Yale was No. 11 last February when it overcame a 3-goal, third-quarter deficit to register a 15-11 win over Michigan before a full Reese Stadium in its home opener. Nine different Elis got in on the scoring. Jack Tigh had a career-high 5 goals and 1 assist, Jackson Morrill hit the net 4 times and Ben Reeves chipped in a pair of goals with 4 assists. Conor Mackie won 6 of 7 in the first and finished with 21 wins on 30 face-offs.

Yale, which has won two straight, erased an 8-3 deficit on the way to a 12-11 OT win over UMass at New Haven last Saturday. Matt Gaudet, who had three goals, scored his last with 53.4 seconds left in OT.

Michigan is coming off a 16-11 win at St. John's last Saturday and is the home team in this  contest. The Wolverines also have consecutive wins as they prepare for the Big 10 season.
