6-2 Falcons at Reese for 7 p.m. Game
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The No. 2 Bulldogs take a break from Ivy League play to host Air Force at Reese Stadium on Tuesday in a 7 p.m. contest airing live on ESPN+ and Stretch Internet (international).
The Bulldogs have won all 3 meetings since the first in 1983 at New Haven. The second came in 2007 at San Diego, while the latest encounter was in 2008 at Yale, a 10-2 decision.
Tyler Casertano and Brendan Gibson led the Elis on offense, and Johnathan Falcone stopped almost everything thrown his way in net as Yale handed the Falcons a 10-2 loss 11 years ago at what was then called the Yale Soccer-Lacrosse Stadium.
Yale, winners of 5 straight, is coming off a 15-10 win at Princeton. Matt Brandau had 4-2-6, TD Ierlan won 21 of 28 face-offs and Jack Starr notched a career-high 16 saves as the Elis came from behind to get the win. Defenseman Chris Fake played a significant role on the Bulldogs allowing a season-low goal total while limiting the Tigers' most dangerous weapon to one score.
Air Force, coming off an 11-7 Southern Conference win at Furman on Saturday, is 6-2 overall (2-0 in conference) and has won 4 straight games. Also included among the victories were Marist, Cleveland State, Canisius, Detroit Mercy and Mercer.
