Senior is Finalist for Senior CLASS Award

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Yale's Jack Tigh is a finalist for the 2019 Senior CLASS Award® for men's collegiate lacrosse. To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must be classified as NCAA Division I seniors and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.

Fan votes will be combined with those of the media and Division I head coaches to determine the winners. The Senior CLASS Award recipient will be announced during the 2019 NCAA Men's Lacrosse National Championship® in May.

Tigh, who has 10 goals and 17 points in 8 games for the No. 5 Bulldogs, was a first-team All-Ivy League and New England pick who made the all-tournament team the weekend Yale won the 2018 NCAA Championship and then was named third-team USILA All-America. He has volunteered for numerous outreach activities including the Vs. Cancer Foundation, Need for Speed and the Best Buddies Program.

An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School®, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their athletic platforms to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.

The finalists were chosen by national media from the list of 30 candidates announced in March. Nationwide fan voting has begun to help select the winner, and fans are encouraged to submit votes online at the Senior CLASS Award website through May 20.

Tigh and the Bulldogs host Dartmouth at Reese Stadium this Saturday at 3 p.m.
