3 QUESTIONS FOR KOCHANSKI
Who is your biggest soccer influence and why?
Philipp Lahm. He is known for his hard work and his pace as well as his tackling abilities. He also never let his small size get in his way.
Do you have an idol or hero?
My dad is my hero. He served 25 years in the Air Force and achieved the rank of Colonel.
Why did you select Yale?
Because it is one of the best colleges in the world and because I have the opportunity to play Division I soccer. I also have a brother who will be a junior at Yale, and he tells me it is an awesome school.
Coach Stannard on Kochanski: "We really lucked out with Jimmy. He was admitted to Yale on his own and recently made the decision to become a Bulldog. I can't be happier about bringing him into the team. He comes from another good Development Academy program, Real Colorado, just outside of Denver. Jimmy comes from a military background, and I know he will bring a will to win mentality that will come with discipline and hard work to help this team be successful. He uses both feet pretty well and is capable of impacting the attacking third. We need competition in all positions on the field and especially in attacking positions and I think Jimmy has the potential to push other players."
