3 QUESTIONS FOR YUSTE
Biggest soccer influences and why?
"My dad was the one that started playing with me when I was four years old and he made me love the game. Watching Xavi and Iniesta play has had a great influence in my game."
Do you have an idol or hero?
"Raul Gonzalez. He is not just a fantastic footballer, he is a Spanish figure that represents values like humanity, humility and kindness. He is an example of desire to improve and succeed."
"The merging of the finest academics in the world and one of the most exciting, rising Division I soccer programs in the country made my selection easy. This opportunity will be a unique academic and athletic experience that will prepare me for my future."
Coach Stannard On Yuste: "Miguel is a little bit of a hidden gem. He could plug into any professional youth academy in the US and be a top player. His background and pedigree coming from a professional youth academy in Spain is top notch. He has received top coaching and professionalism from a young age and his desire to earn a world class education, play at the top amateur level of soccer and help us turn around the program is what brought him here to Yale. Miguel has a very high soccer IQ, is very technical, and his balance and agility make him very slippery and deceptively athletic. He can score goals but also has a knack of creating excellent chances for other players. He will compete to play in any of the attacking positions."
