PRINCETON, N.J. - Junior Adam Houston placed second in the 5000-meters to lead the Bulldogs at the IC4A Championships at Princeton this weekend. Four other Bulldog athletes competed at the meet, which was the last chance to qualify for the NCAA East Preliminaries taking place next weekend.

Houston's 14:11.12 in the 5000-meters is his fastest of the season by over 11 seconds, but places him just outside of a qualifying time for the NCAA East Preliminaries. Freshman Jonathan Lomogda also had a stellar finish in the 5000-meters, placing seventh in the event with a time of 14:20.29.

The Elis had three athletes in competition in the field events this weekend. Sophomore Austin Laut competed in the pole vault. His 13th-place vault of 5.18 meters could possibly qualify him for the NCAA East Preliminaries, depending on results from other meets this weekend. Sophomore Jimmy Shih placed ninth in the triple jump with a jump of 14.80 meters, and junior Jake Hoops took eighteenth in the shot put with a throw of 14.90 meters.

Full results from this weekend's meet are available here. Several Elis will compete next weekend in the NCAA East Preliminaries. A full preview of that meet, including a complete list of qualifiers, will be available next week.
