Rey Crossman, who spent the three seasons as an assistant coach at Skidmore, is in his first season as the director of basketball operations in 2018-19.
In his three years at Skidmore, Crossman helped the Thoroughbreds make two NCAA Tournament appearances, win two NCAA Tournament games, capture one conference championship, earn the school’s first national ranking and reach three Liberty League Tournament championship games.
Skidmore averaged 18 wins per season during tenure, and he played an integral role in developing Edvinas Rupkus, the school’s first All-American.
Prior to Skidmore, Crossman served as the head coach and director of player development at Combine Preparatory Academy. At Combine, Crossman led his team to a 25-8 overall record, helping them to a third-place finish in the USBA National Tournament.
In addition, Crossman spent time working on the AAU circuit with MB1, a program developed by NBA Legend Muggsy Bogues. Crossman had stints coaching the 17U and 14U teams, which competed each year on a national level. He has worked with and developed players who have gone on to play college basketball at all levels.
He also has experience with The City Rocks AAU program, serving as a coach for both the U16 and U17 teams.
Crossman served as the manager of the men's basketball team at UNC-Charlotte from 2012 to 2014 under head coach Alan Major. During his time with the 49ers the team won the Puerto Rico Tip-Off Classic, defeating Kansas State, Northeastern, and No. 14 Michigan, and compiled an overall record of 38-26.Â
Crossman graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a bachelor's degree in exercise science in 2015.Â
