Career: Appeared in 107 games and started 80… Scored 723 points and grabbed 320 rebounds… Three-time recipient of the George McReynolds Award as team’s top defender... Male recipient of Yale’s Ford Student-Athlete Community Outreach Award, presented at the annual Senior Student-Athlete Reception during graduation weekend.

2018-19: Started all 29 games he appeared in… Team’s top on-the-ball defender… Scored 20 points in the win over Lehigh, one of five games in which he scored in double figures… Recipient of the George McReynolds Award as the team’s top defensive player… Selected as one of 30 candidates for the 2018-19 Senior CLASS Award in men’s college basketball… Named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches 2019 Give Back Team, which recognized 10 men's student-athletes from across the nation for their outstanding community service efforts.

2017-18: Second team All-Ivy selection... One of five players to appear in all 31 games... Started a career-high 26 games... Fifth in the Ivy League in field goal percentage (.520)... Averaged 13.4 points and 6.1 rebounds in 14 Ivy games, which were both second on the team... Scored a career-high 24 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field in the home win over Penn... Posted first career double-double (17 points, 14 rebounds) at Princeton... Had 23 points, seven rebounds and five assists in the home win over Brown... Recipient of George McReynolds Award as the team's top defender for the second straight year.

2016-17: Started 25 games… Second on team with 27 steals… 10th in the Ivy League in free throw percentage (.793)… Had a streak of 28 consecutive free throws made mid season… Scored 19 points in the win at Columbia… Recipient of the team’s George McReynolds Best Defensive Player Award.

2015-16: Appeared in 19 games off the bench, including the final seven… Made his only field goal and had two points in the NCAA Tournament victory over Baylor… Played eight minutes against Duke in the third round and had a rebound and blocked shot.

Before Yale: Earned all-state recognition at Charlotte Christian… Two-time all-conference selection… Named a top-20 recruit in North Carolina… Averaged 22.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.6 assists… Scored 1,380 career points.

Personal: Son of former NBA guard Bobby Phills, who died in a car accident after leaving a Charlotte Hornet pre-game shootaround in 2000 when Trey was 3 years old... Younger sister Kerstie plays at Florida Gulf Coast.
