Marc Davis joined the Yale team in 2001 and works primarily withthe Bulldog men's and women's sprinters. Under the guidance ofCoach Davis, the Yale sprinters have seen a great deal of successand have begun to establish themselves as a threat on the east. In2004, Davis' speedsters earned many accolades throughout the indoorand outdoor seasons. On the women's side, Katrina Castille andJoslyn Woodard both captured Ivy League Championships, withCastille winning the 60m crown and Woodard winning the outdoor 200mchampionship. Woodard also sped to a school record and All-Eastperformance at the ECAC championships in the 200m where shefinished in 2nd place. Castille and Woodard teamed with JessicaPall and Aisha Cort on the 4x100m relay team to earn a 3rd placefinish and an All-East performance at the ECAC championship hostedby Yale University. On the men's side, Davis' sprinters had a newfound enthusiasm, which made for a very successful season. Duringthe indoor season, Freshman Russell Kempf raced to an All-Ivyperformance finishing 2nd in the 60m, and Sophomore Robert deLaskihad the fastest time in the Ivy League for the 500m. During theoutdoor season Kempf once again was an All-Ivy performer in the100m and qualified for the Junior National competition in the 200m.Davis also coached the 4x100m relay team to their fastest time inthe last 6 years and a spot on the Yale All-Time List. Prior toYale, Coach Davis spent one and a half years at Lafayette Collegeand three and a half years at Millersville University inPennsylvania. While at Millersville he helped to guide numerousathletes to the NCAA Division II national championships and toall-East performances. He continues to bring a wealth of technicalknowledge and enthusiasm to the Yale program. Davis competed as anundergraduate at Lafayette College under the tutelage of currentYale Coach David Shoehalter and was a two-time Patriot Leaguechampion in the sprints and was an all-East performer at 200mindoors. He graduated from Lafayette in 1995 with a degree inSociology.
