Keith Tyburski was hired as head coach at Yale in June 2023 following a successful 14-year tenure at Colgate University. Tyburski took over Colgate's program in the fall of 2009 as interim head coach before being promoted to the full-time role in July 2010.
In Tyburski's first season at the helm at Yale, he led the Bulldogs to a first-place finish at the 2024 Ivy League Championship, while Ben Carpenter finished first in the tournament overall, winning medalist honors. It was the 12th team championship for Yale and the 16th time a Yale men's golfer had been the tournament's medalist since the development of the Ivy League Men's Golf Championship in 1975. Following the tournament, Tyburski was unanimously voted and named the 2024 Ivy League Coach of the Year.
At Colgate, Tyburski built a foundation of success that rose the program to new heights. His commitment to excellence helped him to become the program's winningest coach in its history.
During the 2022-23 season, Tyburski led the Raiders to an impressive season. At the Patriot League Championships, the team finished second and matched their 1991 and 2001 teams for the highest championship finish in the program's history. The Raiders also had four players score in the top 10 and earn All-Patriot League accolades. This was the first time ever the program had four honorees.
The 2021-22 season saw Tyburski lead the Raiders to one of the most successful seasons ever. The team broke the 18-hole, 36-hole and 54-hole team totals, and posted six top-five finishes. His team's highly accomplished season led to Tyburski securing his first-ever Patriot League Coach of the Year honor.
At the 2019 Patriot League Championship, the Raiders had their best overall performance in nearly two decades with a third-place finish. The team set program records for best team round, best 54-hole total, best individual Patriot League Championship score, and best individual round in relation to par. Additionally, it featured two First Team All-Patriot League selections, a first in the program's history.
The Hamilton, N.Y. native spent two years as a professional golfer, competing in mini circuits across the United States. During that time, Tyburski worked with world-legendary golf trainer, Jack Lumpkin, a prominent mentor who worked with numerous players on the PGA Tours.
Tyburski earned a bachelor's degree in sociology with a minor in psychology from Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina. As a student-athlete, Tyburski captained the team during his senior season, where he helped the Catamounts to their best national ranking in program history at the time and led a record-setting team fundraiser to bolster program resources.
