Mat Bodie

Mat Bodie joined the Yale men’s hockey staff in November 2025 as an assistant coach.

Bodie had a decorated career at Union College, where he served as a two-time captain and helped lead the program to a national championship. He was one of only two players in school history to earn All-American honors twice and graduated as the highest-scoring defenseman in Union’s 71 years of varsity hockey. He earned his degree in economics in 2014.

After graduation, Bodie signed with the New York Rangers as an undrafted free agent and spent the majority of his time in the organization with the Hartford Wolf Pack. He also played within the Buffalo Sabres and Tampa Bay Lightning systems before continuing his professional career in the Swedish Hockey League and the Deutsche Eishockey Liga in Germany.
