Colin Nesdale

Colin Nesdale was promoted to offensive coordinator in the fall of 2022 after returning to Yale in the spring of 2021 as a volunteer assistant coach.

He previously served a one-year stint as an assistant coach at Lehigh University. With the Mountain Hawks, Nesdale worked with goaltender, James Spence, who reached 500 career saves and was named a USILA, USA Lacrosse Magazine & Inside Lacrosse Media Honorable Mention All-American. In the spring of 2021, Lehigh went undefeated in conference play, won the Patriot League regular season title and earned the Patriot League Automatic Qualifying bid to the NCAA tournament completing the season with a 10-2 record.

Before Lehigh, Nesdale served as a volunteer assistant with Yale where he worked with face-off specialist, TD Ierlan, who ranked No. 1 in face-off win percentage & ranked No. 2 in groundballs per game nationally in addition to being a 2020 Tewaaraton Watch List member. Additionally, he worked with freshmen goaltender, Jared Paquette, who was named to the U-19 Team USA roster.

Prior to Yale, he was the volunteer coach at High Point University and the University of Michigan.

In 2018 at High Point, Nesdale coached the goalies and helped Tim Troutner Jr. earn second-team All-Southern Conference honors while notching a league-high in saves (470). Troutner’s save percentage ranked second all-time in the conference, and he set a record with 22 stops in a game. Nesdale’s efforts helped High Point become co-regular season SoCon Champions with a 6-1 record. 

In his season at Michigan, Nesdale work primarily with goalies while preparing the scout teams. During the 2017 season, Nesdale coached Tom Heidt who was voted as the Wolverine’s MVP and set the program record for goals-against average. Meanwhile, UM secured eight wins during that spring – the most in program history.
 
Nesdale played goalie for Quinnipiac before joining that coaching staff as an undergraduate assistant for 2015-16. During his time on the sidelines he mentored All-MAAC second-team selection Jack Brust, who finished fifth nationally in save percentage. The Bobcats finished No. 18 in the national polls and made the 2016 NCAA Tournament after a MAAC title.
 
Nesdale, a Cheshire, Conn., native, earned a bachelor’s in finance and a minor in economics at Quinnipiac in May of 2016. While playing for the Bobcats, he was a part of the 2015 MAAC runner-up squad while starting several games in the crease during his senior season. The Connecticut native began his collegiate career at SUNY Binghamton where he spent one year.
