Matt Dalton

Matt Dalton joined the Yale staff as a volunteer assistant in the fall of 2022. In his first season, the Bulldogs reached the championship game of the Ivy League Tournament and the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

He had been a volunteer assistant at Fairfield since 2019. At Fairfield, Dalton coached the goalies and face off/wing play while also serving as the man-down defense coordinator and the substitution box coach. He assisted with the offense and defense along with the ride and the clear. 

Prior to his time with the Stags Dalton served as the defensive coordinator, faceoff and goalkeeper coach at Nazareth College following two campaigns in the same role at his alma mater, Springfield College. Dalton earned his Master of Education in psychology with a concentration in school guidance and counseling during his time at Springfield.
 
Dalton, who previously coached at SUNY Purchase and Somers High School, was a four-year standout as a student-athlete at Springfield and served as team captain as a senior in 2015. He was an All-Pilgrim League and All-NEWMAC honoree at LSM and helped the Pride to four straight NCAA Tournament appearances.
 
Dalton graduated from Springfield with a degree in psychology in 2015. He is a native of Somers, N.Y.
