2017: Appeared in seven games off the bench.

2016: Appeared in a career high 12 games… Made his first career start in the season opener at Michigan.

2015: Appeared in seven games off the bench.

High School Notes: Named first team all-state and the Kalamazoo Gazette Player of the Year as a senior at Portage Central High School… Two-time all-conference, all-district and all-region selection… Four-year starter and two-time team MVP… Scored 48 goals and added 30 assists in his career, including 21 goals and 15 assists as a senior… Helped team post a 19-2-1 overall record and reach the district finals in 2014… Team captain in his senior season.

Club Soccer Notes: Played for the Portage Soccer Club, the 2014 MRL champions… Promoted to MRL Premier II in 2015… Team captain from 2010 to 2015.

ODP Experience: Michigan ODP state team (2007-11), Region II ODP team (2008-10)… Competed in Florida and Virginia.

Academic Awards: 2014 B''nai B''rith Scholar Athlete Award recipient… Portage Central Gold Academic Award all four years (4.0+ GPA)… Kalamazoo Math and Science Center Honor Roll.

Personal: Tutored middle school children as part of the Mustang Mentors… Twin brother, Binh, will play soccer at MIT… Son of Vu Le and Anh Tran… Father played soccer at Kalamazoo College (1979-81)… Brother Viet attended Ferris State University and brother Nam attended Michigan State… Parents are immigrants from Vietnam who left their homeland as young children… Grandparents met President Gerald Ford, who honored them for their bravery and their work for the Vietnamese community in the United States.

Who is your biggest soccer influence and why?

My father because throughout my entire life he has coached and mentored me to become the soccer player I am today.

Do you have an idol or hero?

Both my parents because I truly look up to their hardworking qualities that made them successful in the United State despite arriving from Vietnam as young children.

Why did you select Yale?

Because I believe Yale offers what no other school can. Yale offers an opportunity to compete at the highest level of collegiate soccer, a world class education and an environment with a fantastic sense of community.
