Biography

2017: Appeared in one game... Shared the team''s Bob Holliday Unsung Hero Award with Ryan Matteo.

2016: Did not appear in a game.

2015: Did not appear in a game.

High School: Played three years of high school soccer at Palmer Ridge… Scored 18 goals and added 22 assists in his career… First team all-conference selection, team MVP and team top scorer as a junior… Palmer Ridge lost on penalty kicks in the championship game of the state tournament and finished with a 19-2 record in his sophomore year… Named Playoff MVP and recipient of the team''s Leadership Award... Two-year team captain.

Academy Notes: Playing for Real Colorado in his senior year… Has started seven games as a striker.

Club Notes: Played for the Pride Predators, who won the 2014 Colorado State Cup, were the co-national champions for the Western Collegiate Development Association and were the 2013 Super League champions… Scored 17 goals during his junior year, including six in six State Cup games… Scored two goals in three USYS Regional final games in New Mexico in 2014.

Academic Awards: Class valedictorian… Top match student for freshman class, top social studies student sophomore and junior years… Outstanding state journalism award junior and senior year.

Personal: Son of Don and Kim Kochanski… Father, who is retired from the military, played soccer and ice hockey at the Air Force Academy… Weekly volunteer for Wild Blue Animal Rescue and Sanctuary… Played soccer for a Dutch team in the Netherlands and for a German team.

Who is your biggest soccer influence and why?

Philipp Lahm. He is known for his hard work and his pace as well as his tackling abilities. He also never let his small size get in his way.

Do you have an idol or hero?

My dad is my hero. He served 25 years in the Air Force and achieved the rank of Colonel.

Why did you select Yale?

Because it is one of the best colleges in the world and because I have the opportunity to play Division I soccer. I also have a brother who will be a junior at Yale, and he tells me it is an awesome school.
