3 Questions for Clamp
Biggest Soccer Influence? "My biggest soccer influence has always been my dad. Born in England and having played soccer all his life, he has inspired my passion for soccer. He has been my number one supporter ever since I could kick a ball, and I still watch games and kick around with him to this day. He comes to watch every game I play, and always pushes me to be better with motivating words and honest feedback. He has been there for me through the highs and lows of my soccer career, and supported me throughout my recruiting process. My dad is my greatest coach, and he taught me the importance of hard work, humility, and resilience both on and off the pitch."
Do you have a hero or idol? "A major sporting idol of mine is Son Heung-min. Since I am half Korean, the greatest Korean player of all time has always been a huge inspiration to me. Son's amazing finishing and footwork are a joy to watch, and his goal-scoring record is extraordinary; however, what I look up to most is his character. He is renowned as a "player with no haters" for good reason–he is one of the classiest and most humble players in world football, and always plays with a smile on his face. Even more importantly, though, his unmatched work ethic shows that greatness comes from putting in the extra effort and always believing in yourself, a mentality I try to replicate in my own game."
Why Yale? "Yale has always been a dream school of mine because of its unique opportunity to pursue both academics and athletics at the highest level. I am excited to compete for Ivy League championships while earning a top degree and making amazing connections. The community at Yale is unlike any other, and the energy and mentality of the team and coaching staff will help me thrive both on and off the field."

Stannard on Clamp: "Keegan is someone we looked at in his senior year but after he decided to take a gap year, we continued to stay in touch. It really wasn't until late in the process of this recruiting class that we felt like Keegan could be a good fit.  After attending our ID camp in the winter, Keegan stood out as someone that was versatile enough to play as an outside back as well as anywhere in the midfield, which is exactly what we needed in our final spot. He is a technical and intelligent player that also has the competitive edge that is necessary to compete at this level."
