Club: Called up to Cyprus U-19 national team… Played five games for Cyprus U-17 national team… Made a first team debut in the Cyprus top division (as an amateur) with Anorthosis Famagusta at the age of 18… Captained Anorthosis Famagusta U-21 club.

Personal: Worked as a counselor for the Commissioner For Underage Children’s Rights in Cyprus. Conducted radio and television interviews to discuss children’s rights… Son of Marios and Phanic Efthymiou

Biggest soccer influence and why? It is Steven Gerrard because he had the ability to control the game and lead the team to victory. He was one of the most complete box-to-box midfielders in soccer history, able to defend, keep the possession, assist and score as well.

Do you have an idol or hero: It has to be Steven Gerrard because was a true captain, a player that raised others and helped the team achieve its maximum potential. He motivates me, helping me overcome obstacles in my life.

Why Yale? It is of course a top academic experience as it is undoubtedly one of the most prestigious universities in the world. I also believe that I fit the team’s way of playing, and after speaking with Coach Stannard, I knew that Yale was the place for me.”
