Connor showed great improvement this season. He moved up in theline-up from #5 last season to #3 and improved his record whiledoing so. He had the best Ivy League singles record on the teamgoing 5-2. He also had the second most overall singles victories at19. In doubles, Connor moved up to the #2 position and posted awinning mark of 11-10. For his accomplishments Connor was awardedthe George A. Phelps ''95 Memorial Award for the most improvedplayer. Connor sprained his wrist at the beginning of the spring ofhis freshman year and missed the first part of the season. However,he worked his way back to the #5 singles position where he went9-7. He finished the year strong in doubles going 8-3 with MikeCaldwell in the #3 position. Freshman year Connor was an ITAScholar-Athlete Award recipient. At his highest, Connor has beenranked among the top 50 nationally in the 18 & under divisionprior to coming to Yale. He is a former Midwest Closed Champion atwhich he also won the Sportsmanship Award. He was the Salutatorianof his class at St. Francis High School.
