High School: Hold both school records for shot put and discus...Hold the 2a shot put state record previously set in 1964...All-State 

Why Yale: "While I was not recruited, I chose Yale for the vibrant community of students. Having a strong Muslim presence was a key attracting attribute. I later chose to join the track team to keep myself disciplined and more productive as a student.”

Personal: In high shool was very involved in advocacy work and policy reform in education and wealth disparities for rural communities...This work entailed many responsibilities in addition to the scientific research and obligations with his family’s business...Also was captain of basketball team and played football in high school...In college, plans to engage in Yale Entrepreneurs, Yale Student investment Group, Muslim Student Association, and the Arab Student Association.
