Sara Holland, who has previous experience as an assistant coach at Texas Tech and Virginia, begins her second year on Jen Goodwin’s staff in 2016-17.

Holland has spent the last nine years as a professional softball instructor in Connecticut, consulting with several travel teams. In addition, she is the owner and operator of Kids Sports Zone and Growing Tree Yoga.

Holland enjoyed an outstanding playing career. She was a two-time first team All-Big XII selection at the University of Kansas, graduating as the Jayhawks record holder with 58 career doubles. She also set single season marks in doubles (21), hits (76) and total bases (117). Holland went on to play for the Georgia Pride in the Women’s Professional Fastpitch League.

She is a 1999 Kansas graduate with a BA in psychology with a concentration in child development/health. She earned an M.Ed from the University of Virginia.

“Sara will be a tremendous addition to our coaching staff,” Goodwin said. “Her knowledge of the game as well as her versatility gives us an immediate advantage as we head into our fall season. I’m excited to welcome her to the Yale Softball family and can’t wait to see the great things our team will accomplish with Sara on board.”
