The Bulldogs picked up their fourth straight win to begin 2018 with a 3-1 victory over Army-West Point on Friday afternoon in Kingston, R.I.
Frances Arnautou had 37 assists, six digs, four block assists and three kills to lead Yale. The scores of the match were 25-18, 20-25, 25-15 and 25-15.
After splitting the first two sets, the Bulldogs came out firing in the third. The Bulldogs hit .353 for the set and jumped out to a 6-1 lead after a Kate Swanson ace. Swanson added 17 digs in the match.
Tristin Kott, who had 11 kills and hit .417 for the match, broke a 2-2 tie in the fourth and the Bulldogs never trailed for the remainder of the match. Kott had four of Yale's nine kills in the final set. With the win, the Bulldogs have started 4-0 for the second straight season.
Ellis DeJardin led the Bulldogs with 12 kills and added 10 digs, while Destiny Daniel had six kills and four block assists. Chiara Spain had a team-high five block assists and Yale finished with a season-best 20.
Yale returns to action tomorrow with two matches in Rhode Island. The Bulldogs face New Hampshire at 11 a.m. and take on host URI at 7 p.m.
