Jehrin Colbert

Jehrin Colbert joined the Yale women’s basketball staff as director of operations in August of 2023.

In 2024-25 Colbert helped the Bulldogs finish in the top three in the Ivy League in offensive rebounds (12.1 per game) and bench points (15.3 per game). They had an honorable mention All-Ivy League selection (Mackenzie Egger) and a CSC Academic All-District honoree (Grace Thybulle).

In 2023-24 Colbert helped the Bulldogs finish in the top three in the Ivy League in offensive rebounds (12.7 per game) and steals (7.52 per game). The Bulldogs earned an impressive 74-68 overtime win at Penn, rallying from an 11 point deficit. Yale made dramatic year-to-year improvements in shooting percentage (up 21 percentage points) and free throw percentage (up 18 percentage points). The Bulldogs also decreased their turnovers by 2.8 per game.and increased their assists by .8 per game. Yale had two CSC Academic All-District selections (Jenna Clark and Brenna McDonald).

Before joining the Bulldogs Colbert spent four years working in an administrative role at UMass Dartmouth, including spending the final year as an academic advisor. She spent a year at St. John’s as a graduate assistant while getting her Master of Business Administration in Sport and Administration/Management. Her previous experience also includes a year as an administrative assistant with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater New Bedford (Mass.) and a year as a special education assistant at Global Learning Charter Public School in New Bedford.

Colbert earned a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Business, Management, Marketing and Related Support Services from Elmira College in 2015. She spent four seasons as a student manager with the Elmira women’s basketball team. That included a 2013-14 season in which the Soaring Eagles went 16-10 and had a 10 game winning streak, their longest since 2006-07. 

Colbert is a native of New Bedford, Mass., and graduated from New Bedford High.
