Lashay Banks

Lashay Banks, who helped Cincinnati earn a WNIT berth last season, joined the Yale women’s basketball staff as an assistant coach in the summer of 2018.

Banks spent the 2017-18 season as graduate manager at Cincinnati, helping the Bearcats go 19-13 (10-6 AAC) and earn a berth in the WNIT. She was an assistant coach at Swarthmore in 2015-16.

Banks played for Rider in 2013-14 and 2014-15. The 2013-14 team posted 15 wins, tied for Rider’s most wins since 1994-95. As a junior she was third on the team in scoring (8.5 points per game) and steals (34). As a senior she was third on the team in rebounding (5.2 per game).

Banks played for Cincinnati for the first two years of her career (2010-11 and 2011-12), appearing in 45 games.

Banks graduated from Rider with a B.A. in psychology and a minor in social work in 2015. She earned a Master of Science in Health Promotion and Education from Cincinnati in 2018.

A Philadelphia native, Banks was the Philadelphia Public League Female Player of the Year at Prep Charter High School, where she led the team to a pair of Public League championship games and a state tournament appearance.
