As a sophomore, Sherry Yang competed on vault, beam, and floorin almost every meet. In the last four competitions, she scoredabove a 9.0 on all three events. Her career highs are a 9.3 onvault at Towson, a 9.4 on beam at the ECAC Championships, and a9.475 on floor against Penn. Due to an injury, Yang was only ableto compete on bars in her freshman year. She was a consistent partof the line-up, participating in all but one meet. She earned anECAC Coaches'' Choice Award midway through the season for herexcellent barwork. Yang''s best performance was at Towson, where shescored a 9.675. Yang joined the Bulldogs from Capital GymnasticsNational Training Center. As a level 10, she was a six-time Stateand Region VII Championships qualifier. In 2007, she placed 4th inthe all-around and qualified to the Level 10 Junior OlympicNationals, where she placed 14th in the all-around. She also helpedher Region VII team to a 3rd place finish. Yang graduated fromWinston Churchill High School.
