Kristin (Emerick) Moriarty joined the Yale Sports Medicine staff as an Assistant Athletic Trainer in August of 2017 and was promoted to Associate Athletic Trainer in July 2023. She provides primary coverage for the women’s ice hockey team and oversees the lightweight crew program.

Prior to Yale, Moriarty worked at Sacred Heart University (2011-2017), where her primary sport coverage included Men’s Ice Hockey, Women’s Swimming and Diving, and Women’s Bowling teams. Moriarty served as a clinical preceptor for the Athletic Training undergraduate education program. She began teaching as an adjunct professor when she joined Sacred Heart in 2011, and she has continued her teaching role in the Emergency Care and Prevention class throughout her time at Yale.

Moriarty completed her Master of Education degree in Health Education at The Pennsylvania State University in 2011, where she also worked as a graduate assistant Athletic Trainer. Her coverage responsibilities included Co-Ed Cheerleading, Men’s and Women’s Gymnastics, Women’s Rugby, and Intramural Sports.

Moriarty, a native of Stamford, Conn., graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training/Sports Medicine from Quinnipiac University in 2009. During her time at Quinnipiac, she gained experience working with Men’s Basketball, Men’s and Women’s Track and Field, Yale Football, and Hopkins School. She also served as a summer intern with the Bridgeport Bluefish baseball team.

Moriarty was a member of the Quinnipiac Women’s Ice Hockey team, serving as Assistant Captain her junior year before suffering a career-ending injury. Her experience with an injury gave her a unique perspective into both the mental and physical aspects of the healing process and further assured her of the passion she has for sports medicine.
