Jordan Trautman

Jordan Trautman, a former All-American and Tewaaraton Trophywatch list selection, joined the Yale women’s lacrossecoaching staff in the fall of 2010. Trautman, who spent theprevious season as an assistant coach with Navy aftergraduating from Georgetown in 2009, works with the Bulldogs’defense.

Trautman was a four-year starter and helped lead Georgetown tothree NCAA Tournament appearances, two Big East Championships andan overall mark of 49-25 (.662). She captained the team in2008-09.

A defender from Mystic, Conn., Trautman was All-Region and asecond team All-American in 2008. She led Georgetown with 45 groundballs and was second with 29 caused turnovers that season, earningfirst team All-Big East honors. She was second team All-Big Eastand a North-South All-Star selection in 2009, when she was on thewatch list for the Tewaaraton Trophy as the top player inwomen’s college lacrosse.

Trautman spent the 2010 season at Navy, where she learned underhead coach Cindy Timchal. Timchal, who leads all college lacrossecoaches in wins with a career mark of 379-98, has won eightnational championships. Last year the Mids went 17-4, setting theschool record for wins. They won a share of the Patriot Leagueregular season championship and also won the Patriot Leaguetournament. They beat Sacred Heart in the NCAA play-in game to earnthe school’s first NCAA tournament appearance, falling toNorth Carolina in the first round. With Trautman’s help, thedefense finished the season ranked No. 7 in the country in scoringdefense (just 8.38 goals allowed per game).

Trautman also has extensive club lacrosse experience. Shecoached and served as an assistant director for the NorthernVirginia-based Cardinal Lacrosse Club from 2008-09 and currentlyserves as head coach and Director of Girls Programs for theWashington, D.C.-based Breakout Lacrosse training company.

Work in the community has also been a big part ofTrautman’s experience. While at Georgetown she made numerousvisits to Georgetown Children’s Hospital and helped planevents there. A licensed Certified Nurses Assistant, Trautmanworked at Mary Elizabeth Nursing Home in her native Mystic from2006 through 2009. She also worked as a teacher’s aide at theHoya Kids Learning Center in the summer of 2009.

Trautman has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Women and GenderStudies from Georgetown. She is a graduate of Loomis ChaffeeSchool, where she played basketball and soccer in addition tolacrosse. She was a three-time honorable mention high schoolAll-American in lacrosse and led her team to a pair of FoundersLeague and New England Prep School championships. She is a memberof the Cum Laude Society.
