2009: IWLCA Academic Squad ... Second on teamwith 23 goals and third on team with 23-5-28 points... Appeared inall sixteen games and started five... Scored career best four goalsin season opening win against Fairfield and matched the total inwin at Columbia... Tallied multiple points six of the first eightgames... Won six draw controls and collected five ground balls.2008: Only sophomore to start all sixteen games...Fifth on team with 15 goals and 15-4-19 points... Scored two goalsagainst Fairfield, Dartmouth, and Brown... Career best two assistswith 1-2-3 points against UConn... Collected eight ground balls.2007: Has appeared in 15 games, starting five ...has 10 goals and three assists, leading Yale''s freshmen in goalsand points ... scored two goals in her varsity debut,season-opening 14-7 win at Fairfield ... also scored a pair ofgoals in 13-5 win at Brown. Before Yale: Sturgillwas an honorable mention US Lacrosse high school All-American and atwo-time all-county and honorable mention All-Met selection atCentennial, where she received the Coaches Award and was voted themost athletic female. She captained the lacrosse and basketballteams. Sturgill was an Academic All-American, was on theprincipal''s honor roll for four years, and is a member of theNational Honor Society. She played against her Yale teammates JennaBlock and Natalie Reid in the 2005 Vail Lacrosse Shootout U-19Girls finals. Sturgill''s Maryland & District of Columbia teamtopped Block and Reid''s Rome team 10-9 in overtime.
