Biography
2019: Second team All-Ivy selection… Led the team in total blocks (60)… Fourth on team with 181 kills… Team captain... Selected to the Yale Invitational All-Tournament Team… Co-recipient of the team’s Most Valuable Player Award… Academic All-Ivy selection.
2018: Had 13 kills and hit .423 with two block assists and a service ace against Syracuse in the NCAA Tournament...Appeared in seven matches and averaged 2.08 kills per set...Hit .293 on 58 swings...Averaged 0.83 blocks per set with one solo and nine block assists...Had four kills and three blocks in a 3-0 win at Dartmouth on Nov. 3.
2017: Ranked 11th in conferernce kills per set in Ivy League play...Led the team in total blocks (49) and solo blocks (11)...Averaged 1.47 kills per set...Had six kills and a season-high 10 total blocks (4 solo/6 assist) at Brown on Oct. 20...Had 10 kills and six blocks in a win over Columbia on Oct. 7...Had a season-high 13 kills in a win over Cornell on Oct. 7.
2016: Appeared in seven matches...Had a season-best five kills and hit 1.000 in a win at Cornell on Oct. 1...Finished season with 14 kills and six blocks.
Before Yale: Played at La Reina High School and a native of Westlake Village, Calif., Simqu played club for LAVA. She earned varsity MVP honors as a sophomore, junior and senior. In her final two seasons, she was also named Tri-Valley MVP and served as a team co-captain. In addition to numerous academic honors, Simqu also earned first team all-CIF League honors as a junior and senior. Off the court, she was a member of the National Charity League and completed over 100 hours of service all four years of high school.
