2014: Named All-Ivy Second Team selection...Ranked 8th in Ivy League in hitting percentage (.305) in conference matches...Led Yale with 25 total blocks in 14 Ivy League matches...Hit .385 or higher in six Ivy matches, including a .520 performance with a season-high 15 kills against Harvard on Oct. 3...One of three Bulldogs to average over two kills per set (2.23)...Had 12 kills, five digs, one block and hit .500 in 3-0 conference playoff win at Harvard on Nov. 21...Produced season-high nine blocks in 3-1 win at Cal State Fullerton on Sept. 19.Â
2013:Â Appeared in 58 sets...Averaged 3.05 kills per set in Ivy League play...Had season-best seven blocks in a match twice...Swung for double-digit kills in 4 Ivy League matches...Had 11 kills and hit .368 in a win at Princeton on Nov. 15...Had season-high in kills in back-to-back matches in at Dartmouth (13) and at Harvard (14)...Had eight kills and two block assists in the NCAA Tournament match against Pac-12''s Utah - one of the top blocking teams in the nation.
2012:Â Appeared in 32 sets...Slammed 43 kills and averaged 1.34 per set...Had season-high nine kills and added two block assists in 3-1 win over Dartmouth on Oct. 5...Produced first collegiate kill against Stony Brook on Sept. 1...Had seven kills and hit .429 in 3-0 win over Albany on Sept. 19.
Off the Court:
- Worked on an independent ecology research project at the Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory in Colorado, a project that involved living at 10,000 feet for ten weeks while studying alpine plant populations in the context of climate change
- Summer intern at the Yale Sustainable Food Project (or Yale Farm)
- Participant in the Yale College Poets reading at the Beinecke Library
Before Yale:Â Represents first Appleman recruit from the state of Massachusetts..Named to the PrepVolleyball.com High School All-America Special Mention Team in 2012...Named Most Improved Player for Brookline High School in 2008, and a League First Team All-Star in 2009...As a junior and senior, Midzik was team MVP and captain...Playing for SMASH Volleyball Club, she was a starter for her 17s team that won the New England Regionals and a bid to Junior Olympics...Competed as a member of the USAV High Performance squad that won a bronze at the USAV HP Championships.
